My Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who lives and practices in NYC. After attending Kenyon College, I graduated from the Columbia University School of Social Work in 2012. Prior to entering private practice, I worked in a variety of NYC community mental health settings providing clinical services in addition to doing administrative work.
My practice is entirely virtual and I am licensed in NY (085905), NJ (44SC05971600), FL (TPSW1375), and CA (106257). The foundation of my treatment approach is collaboration and partnership. My intake process consists of getting a sense of a client's prior treatment history (if any) with an emphasis on whatever the client views as the most pressing need. Within the context of a relational and person-centered approach, I will employ more targeted CBT and DBT-based interventions as needed. I also enjoy integrating mindfulness tools into treatment whenever possible. I will make a point of learning about your additional self care tools outside of therapy so that a holistic treatment plan can be created that addresses your needs both in and out of session.
My experience working in community mental health has cultivated a strong commitment to social justice. As a white cisgender heterosexual woman, I am aware of the privilege that I bring into the treatment space and I welcome clients to hold me accountable as I work to foster a validating environment for members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
